Join the NCTA Livestock Judging Team and 4-H Youth Animal Science Field Day for two days of education and fun, in Curtis, Nebraska.

May 22 & 23, 2019

Join us for the NCTA Livestock Judging Camp, May 22nd and Youth Animal Science Field Day, May 23rd. These events are open to all youth ages 8-18 years old.

On Wednesday, May 22nd The NCTA Livestock Judging Team would like to invite youth to the Standard of Excellence Livestock Judging Camp. During this overnight experience judgers will learn evaluation techniques, terms, note taking skills, proper handling of contest animals, and gain the confidence it takes to deliver a set of reasons. All in a fun, friendly, and safe environment. Judgers will have the option to stay overnight, in our NCTA residence halls, to join in the Youth Animal Science Field Day on Thursday, May 23rd. On Thursday, May 23rd youth are invited to join YASFD hosted by Nebraska Extension, West Central Research & Extension Center along with NCTA. On this day there will be six different sessions taught by Nebraska Extension Educators and NCTA faculty and staff. These sessions will include Animal Science Careers, Horse Hippology, Dog Care/Stock Dogs, Beef Reproduction, Animal Management, Poultry Judging and more. 9:30 am – 3:30 pm in Curtis, NE on the NCTA Campus For your convenience, those participating both days have the option to register for an overnight stay in the resident halls on NCTA’s campus.

Each Participant must complete these forms:

If not a 4-H member and attending YASFD, fill out NE 4-H Participant Permission/health form

Nebraska 4-H Participant Permission and Health Form

Here are a few items you should consider bringing with you:

 1)     Student Activity Form( NCTA Youth Safety Activity PolicyNebraska 4-H Participant Permission and Health Form )

2)     Notepad and sharpened pencils

3)     Bedding Materials ( Sheets and Blanket or Sleeping Bag)

4)     Pillow

5)     Personal Toiletries( Soap, Deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, Hairbrush or comb, etc.)

6)     Towel

7)     Clothes
