"Nebraska Press Association v. Stuart at 50: The Enduring Legacy of First Amendment Freedom" Daniel Gutman, '16 Director of the First Amendment Clinic
Approved for 1 Credit Hour
This CLE celebrates the 60th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court's landmark decision in Nebraska Press Association v. Stuart. The hour-long discussion will focus on a core holding in the case: That "prior restraints on speech and publication are the most serious and least tolerable infringement on First Amendment rights," except when "clear and present danger" would impede the process of a fair trial.
