Program Deposit - $250

Because you have been accepted to your Nebraska Abroad Global Experiences program, you will now need to pay the program deposit as stated on the program budget sheet. The program deposit will be deducted from the overall program cost billed to your MyRed account at the start of the term in which you go abroad. Once you have paid this program deposit, UNL will begin incurring irrecoverable costs on your behalf for your Nebraska Abroad program. Irrecoverable costs include payments that cannot be refunded to UNL (and financial commitments that cannot be broken by UNL) if you decide not to go abroad. These costs vary by program and typically increase closer to the departure date. If you withdraw from the program after paying the program deposit, UNL will still bill you for all irrecoverable costs, as well as the Global Experiences Fee. Calculation of these costs may take time as the Global Experiences staff determines the refund policies of vendors and whether exceptions can be made. This amount may exceed the program deposit; additional irrecoverable costs will be billed through MyRed. UNL does not book flights for every program, but if UNL books a group flight for your program, UNL will be purchasing a plane ticket in your name. This ticket will become your financial responsibility, whether you use the ticket or not. Flight changes or cancellations will be your responsibility and will be subject to the terms of the ticket purchased, as determined by the travel agent and/or the airline(s). You may want to consider independently selecting and purchasing trip cancellation insurance.
