Create your own magical hand-built ceramic witch hat lantern in this beginner-friendly, two-part workshop with ceramic artist Tara Hinkley of Creative Lotus Shop. Part One — Tuesday, September 29 | 5:00–7:00 PM Students will learn the basics of hand-building with clay, including how to use a slab roller and templates to construct their witch hat. We’ll cover different clay-joining and hand-building techniques, adding dimensional details, and creating openings that allow the finished piece to glow when illuminated from underneath with a candle or LED light. (light not included) Part Two — Tuesday, October 6 | 5:00–6:30 PM After the pieces have been bisque fired, everyone will return to learn and experiment with different glazing techniques. We’ll glaze our witch hats together and finish the class by learning proper pottery-studio cleanup and care of our workspaces. No experience necessary — Perfect for beginners. All clay, glaze, firing, tools, and materials are included. Cost: $65.00 Sign up for this class and you will be automatically signed up for the second class. The cost of the workshop includes clay and glaze.
