This 144-page, coil-bound handbook includes a short discussion of the state’s grasshopper populations, a key to grasshopper anatomy, and for each species it includes photos to aid in identification, a map of distribution in the state, and descriptions of species characteristics, including appearance, size, habitat, seasonality, Nebraska distribution, diet, and economic importance.

Authors are Mathew L. Brust, assistant professor of biology at Chadron State College; W. Wyatt Hoback, professor of biology at the University of Nebraska–Kearney; and Robert J.
