The Creating Balance with Food & Fitness Course is a wellness program for adults that is interactive, convenient, and flexible, has lots of variety, and can be a little or a lot depending on what you want. You can take the class alone; get together with co-workers or friends, or a combination of both depending on your schedule. It is also a great worksite wellness class that can be taken over the noon hour.

Recorded Webinar sessions will be available for viewing at your convenience 24-48 hours after each Tuesday session.

This eight-week series of interactive sessions is focused on helping you:

  • Develop goals to improve or maintain health
  • Balance calories to manage weight
  • Know which foods to increase
  • Know which foods to reduce
  • Increase your physical activity level

  • Program Orientation
  • Portion sizes
  • Nutrition Facts Labels
  • Smart lunch: Dining out and brown bag
  • Meal planning
  • Recipe modification
  • Healthy beverages & snacking at work
  • Walking works – at work: Walk Nebraska and Live Well Nebraska
  • Physical activity breaks at every session that incorporate the 2008 physical activity guidelines
