Since the ranges of many species are still incompletely known, this paper focuses attention on these gaps in our knowledge and perhaps stimulate the study of herpetology in the state. It is hoped that residents of Nebraska will find this a convenient guide to the identification of specimans that many be encountered on excursions afield as well as a suitable manual for class use in educational institutions.
