Wayne, W. J., 1971. Guidebook for Field Trip on Urban Geology in Eastern Nebraska (GB-5): 15 pp., size 8.5" x 11". Description: Failure to make adequate use of a knowledge of the Earth in urban areas where the geology is less than spectacular or the population less dense also can have unfortunate results, although they are unlikely to be tragedies of the same magnitude. Eastern Nebraska's geologic information, if used along with the other basic data of planning such as economic and population records, can help reduce some of the land-development problems that have become common in many urbanizing areas. Land-use conflicts exist and will increase as urban uses increase. This field trip has as its purpose the examination of some of the geologic aspects of the valley that do and will affect its increased urbanization.
