Description
Ayers, J. A. 1987. Seismic Refraction and Reflection Survey, City of Lincoln Well Field, Ashland, Nebraska (OFR-39). 91 pp. + 3 over-sized maps. Description: The purpose of this study was to provide basic information related to the configuration of the bedrock surface, the thickness of the alluvial overburden, and the stratigraphy of the aquifer and its associated units. Seismic-refraction and shallow high-resolution seismic-refraction methods were utilized during the course of the study to obtain relevant subsurface information. These data, in addition to information from a previous seismic study and from drilling logs, were used to construct maps of the aquifer-base configuration, bedrock topography and sediment thickness and to construct hydrogeologic cross sections for a portion of the Platte Valley alluvial aquifer.
