Description: This paper looks in detail at the stratigraphy and crinoids present in the South Bend Limestone in southeastern Nebraska and southeastern Kansas, and, based on correlations between the Nebraska and Kansas sites, suggests renaming several facies of the unit. Most significantly, it suggests revising the boundary between the Missourian and Virgilian ages in the Nebraska section of the South Bend Limestone. It offers a new look at some possible solutions for placing geolgic time-unit boundaries.
