Correlation of the Formations of the Laramie Range, Hartville Uplift, Black Hills, and Western Nebraska (GSB-13a)

Description

Condra, G. E., Reed, E. C., Scherer, O. J., 1950. Correlation of the Formations of the Laramie Range, Hartville Uplift, Black Hills, and Western Nebraska (GSB-13a): 52 pp., size 6" x 9". Description: During the 1940s there was increased interest in the oil and gas possibilities of western Nebraska, culminating with the discovery of oil in commercial quantities on June 6, 1949. At the time of this publication, there were six producing wells in the Gurley Field, with a total daily production of 1,000 barrels, and drilling by the Ohio Oil Company near Huntsman indicated the probable development of both oil and gas in commercial quantities in the Huntsman area. The original bulletin was updated and revised.
