Description: The geology and ground-water resources of the upper Republican River valley west of Alma, Nebraska, to the Nebraska-Colorado border and of the Frenchman River valley from its confluence with the Republican River to a point about 12 miles upstream from Wauneta, Nebraska, were studied in 1950-1951. The purpose of this study was to relate the occurrence of ground water to irrigation and flood control and to aid in the evaluation of the effects of irrigation on the land in the area.
