Description

Chen, X-H., Yin, Y. 1999. Modeling of Groundwater Flow and Analysis of Stream-Aquifer Connectivity, Red Willow County, Southwestern Nebraska (OFR-70). 164 pp., size 8.5" x 11". Description: In fulfillment of a part of the July 22, 1997, cooperative agreement between the Conservation and Survey Division (CSD) and the Nebraska Department of Water Resources (DWR). Legislative Bill 108 (LB108) was passed in Nebraska in 1996 to recognize the potential need for regulation when a hydrologic connection between streams and adjacent aquifer systems is determined. LB108 provides for integrated management of these resources when conflicts are shown to exist between surface water use and groundwater use. To help accomplish the purposes of LB108, DWR initiated an investigation of stream/aquifer relationships in the Republican River basin. CSD was contracted by DWR in 1997 to conduct an investigation of the hydraulic connectivity between the streams and aquifer systems. Out of print, unbound copy available.
